First day

Tbilisi Arrival in Tbilisi. Meeting at the airport with a tour leader. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in the hotel.

The first acquaintance with Tbilisi. Tour of the old city: terrace houses wreathed with vines, old churches with tiled domes, the silhouettes of ancient monasteries, traditional Georgian yards with fancy carved porches here, everything breathes from antiquity. The cable car climb to the statue of mother Georgia, later Narikala fortress, which is the most ancient monument, a kind of "heart and soul of the city" (IV century BC), was the founding of the city itself. From the fortress to the Sulfur baths that were built in the style of classical oriental architecture. This is a low, squat buildings, top closed with semicircular domes with large glass openings in the Center, serving Windows, illuminating the Interior, because the baths are located below ground level. In the old days, people here not only bathed, but chatted late into before dawn, and the city matchmakers arranged presentation on special days. The baths were given social dinners, concluded trade deals. Metekhi Temple is the most famous monument in Tbilisi, was erected in 13 century. at the edge of the rocky shores of Chickens and it was in the past the fortress and residence of Georgian Kings. Under the arches of the first Georgian metekhi Templemartyr-Queen of Šušanika Ranskaâ; Sioni Cathedral is the main church of Tbilisi historically, named in honor of Mount Zion and was consecrated in honor of the assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Located on the Bank of the river Kura in old Tbilisi.Was built on the orders of the Byzantine nobles Guram I in 6 in, but destroyed by Arabs. In 12 v.  rebuilt in XVII-XIX centuries. The Church got its present name in the 17th century, when moved a large icon of the Anchiskhati Cathedral (South Georgia). Icon of the Saviour is one of the holiest shrines of Georgia. . It is executed in the technician ènkaustiki (painting with hot wax paints), which originated in Byzantium not earlier than the 6th century. The icon of the Savior from Anchi became widely known in the XII century, when the courtier  Queen Tamar made for her silver with gold accents. In the 17th century, private owners handed the icon of St. Mary's Church in Tbilisi. Here the Savior icon was more than 200 years. In the late 19th century for security reasons she was placed in the Church Museum. Today the Anchi icon (in Georgian "Anchiskhati") is displayed in the Museum of art of Georgia. Visit Holy Trinity Cathedral "Sameba" included among the largest Orthodox churches in the world. Chardin-famous street area at the bottom of the old town, which concentrated all the city's nightlife, with plenty of bars and restaurants, street recalls the Champs Elysees with its numerous restaurants and cafés, boutiques, art galleries, art lounges and souvenir shops where you can buy gifts home. Capital of Georgia night surprisingly beautiful: it stands on several mountain high lighted hills, on which tiers "creep" of the ancient quarters of the city. Beautiful Kura River with its spectacular rocky cliffs, flowing through the city of Tbilisi, as welcomed guests. Welcome dinner with the programme at the national restaurant. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Second day: 

Tbilisi Breakfast in the hotel. Meeting with the guide in the lobby of the hotel. Early  breakfast in the hotel in Tbilisi. Travel to Kakheti (eastern Georgia edge of wine). A trip to the David-gareji is a Grand Georgian complex cave monasteries of the 5th century, which put the Holy Father David, one of 13 Assyrian fathers missionaries, in the first half of the 6th century. According to legend, Saint David got to Jerusalem, took three stone at the gates of Jerusalem and back. Legend has it that these stones made from Jerusalem all benefit of the Lord. Then the Patriarch of Jerusalem caught up with him and asked to leave these stones. David left the two stones, and one brought in Georgia. This stone is still at his tomb in the Monastery David Gareji. Complex of several hundred cut into the rocks of the premises of almost 25 km stretches. The complex 7 oldest monasteries, it includes: carved in the rock of Qilya, churches, chapels ,dining rooms and living quarters. After visiting the monastery of Lavra, climb to the monastery Udabno (desert)  and see the unique frescoes VI-XIII centuries, depicting faces ofQueen Tamar and King Lasha-George, as well as the stunning views that stretch all the way up to the border with Azerbaijan. Next we arrive in Sighnaghi, a walk on the "city of eternal love", which is situated on top of a ridge overlooking the Alazani Valley, will visit the fortress wall with 28 towers (long only wall) and with the walls will enjoy the panorama of the famous Alazani Valley and the River Alazani. Visit the beautiful Monastery complex in the village of Bodbe, its territory is surrounded by a beautiful slender cypresses gigantic height. Return to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

 

Third day: 

Mtskheta Jvari-Gori.

Breakfast in the hotel in Tbilisi. Drive to the ancient capital of Georgia Mtskheta-City-Museum, a number of UNESCO World Heritage sites. Visit the ancient temple- monastery Jvari monastery (6th century). At the top of the mountain where the temple is located, offers fantastic views of the confluence of the two rivers Kura and aragvi, so romantic described in his poem Mtsyri, Lermontov. Ibid., at a glance, a beautiful view of the ancient capital of Georgia-Mtskheta. Visiting in Mtskheta Cathedral svetitskhoveli (1010-1029), under which buried one of the main Christian shrines-Heaton Jesus Christ, one of the most important sacred artifacts of the New Testament, which after the Crucifixion was brought to Mtskheta-Eliozom one of the witnesses to his death on the cross, as well as the burial place of many of the Georgian Kings. There is also a part of the invigorate pillar. Go to Gori is a big city with a population of about 50000 people, the administrative center of Shida Kartli. Gori is located at the confluence of the rivers Mtkvari and Liakhvi River in the picturesque Kartlia Valley. To the South and West of Gori,  surrounded by scenic mountains. Located mainly on the northern side of the Chickens, at the confluence of the great  Liakhvi River in it. In Central Georgia is the second largest city after Tbilisi. The first news of its existence have survived from the 12th century. 1920 Gori earthquake February 20, 1920 year marked: collapsed all the temples and secular buildings, the town was completely destroyed and the population decreased to 5000 people. In 1930-ies it started rebuilding almost from scratch. It is for this reason that the city  highly contrived-really we can only see the buildings of the Soviet era. The city is known  for surviving fortress Goristsihe and Stalin Museum. Goristsihe-Gori  fortress-the most notable and Grand ancient structure of the city of Gori. Its history is rich and tragic, from the fortress survived. Strengthening for today is the Central Citadel of the city of Gori, a kind of Kremlin. The main competitors are the narikala fortress in Tbilisi and the castle of Rabat in Akhaltsikhe. This ancient defensive fortress located on the Goristsihe mountain Hill, which is located in the Centre of Gori. Presumably, this fortress was built during the reign of the legendary Georgian King David, who was given the nickname "the Builder". Archaeologists assume  also that the fortress of Goris-tsikhe was built on the site of an even more ancient defensive buildings. This fortress is well preserved till our days. With the Goristsihe fortress with a spectacular view of the beautiful city and its surrounding scenic mountains. Excursion to Uplescihe cave city tours in Georgia, is carved into the rock is the most important monument of Georgian culture. Uplistsikhe surprising its nearly 3- history, he formed about 1000 BC, and finally abandoned only in XIX century. It was sacred, Temple place, built in the 10th or 11th century.  Overnight in Tbilisi.


Fourth day

 Departure. Breakfast  in the hotel. Free time for souvenir  shopping in the old town. Transfer  to the airport. Return home.
